My favorite cafe in DC has sadly closed its pop up in Navy Yard today they are planning to reopen in union market and will keep their Georgetown location open. Honestly there is sooo much yummies here! I love the hummus and pita bread. Note you need to request bread instead of chips when you order, chips are the default. The chicken pita sandwich is also a favorite, along with papata tots, frozen labne with pomegranate, sesame chocolate chip cookies, and the honey halwa latte! Please check out you will not regret it!

Coffee/pastry shops are not normally my thing, but Yellow is a must try with its unique offering inspired by middle eastern cuisine. My favorite so far is the Zaatar Labne Croissant this is a XL croissant stuffed with Labne and covered in zaatar seasoning. It's a small footprint space with a modern Middle East inspired decor. Not much seating directly in front except for 2 medium communal style tables outside and 2 benches. But look alongside albi and on the street for more!

Give me some Yellow! Saw it on Feed Phil and had to give it a try when in D.C. Line at the waterfront location was manageable and we hit just before lunch so they were out of a few things. We went for the egg in pastry with harissa and the shakshura with lamb. They give you a piece of spiced fresh oven baked bread. Both were delicious and topped off with a cookie. I'll be back for the lamb gyro! Thanks Phil. Yalla!

Had many friends rave about this place and even saw it on an episode of Somebody Feel Phil- I can say it lives up to its hype. Yellow is a very well-thought-out cafe, from the decor to the packaging of the food, to the actual food. My friend and I stopped in at 11am on a Sunday and it was pretty packed and most baked goods were sold out. I came again the following weekend around 9am and it was much more calm- definitely recommend going early! We got the side of potatoes and a honey tahini latte with oat milk. The second time I went I got the iced dirty chai and the zatar croissant filled with labneh. The iced dirty chai was nothing to rave about. But- OMG the Zatar croissant and the honey tahini latte- I still have dreams about them. I can't wait to come next weekend, and the weekend after that, and the weekend after that. (You get it- this place is amazing!!) My only complaint is please please please open up on the weekdays!! Having Yellow available just 2 days during the week is not enough.
